VCC formed with the objectives of Enhance scientific thinking and creativity among the children, Educate children about our rich culture, arts and imbibing good values, Encourage games and sports, Environmental awareness, and nature empathy, Equip children with the knowledge of good health, both physical and mental, Emphasize on the necessity of patriotism and responsibility towards the society, Earnest recognition and appreciation of the dignity of labor and collective functioning, Elucidate the importance of science and eliminate orthodox and superstitious thinking, Embrace good human values and help people in need, Empathies and extend friendly relations among children.  

 

Dussehra Camps: VCC is organizing a three-day camp for children during Dussehra holidays in all the years’ places like Kondakarlava, Tumpala, Bojannakonda, and Munagapaka, Atchutapurametc mostly rural areas for understanding the agriculture. The children had an amusing outing retreat during the camp. The greenery around, games in the midst, play-acting, mock assembly, songs are only a few pass times, the children had enjoyed. The children had both an educative and entertaining session. In part of the event, they had performed the cultural programmes in the village, what they learned in the camp. It has given enormous confidence to the children.

 

Summer Camps: Since the beginning children from the city were taken to different places and camps are residential and organizing for three days mostly to give insights to the children on society, learn about the culture of the different contexts tribal, rural, and coastal. So far Araku, Tatipudi, Bhimili, Totapalli, Steel plant etc. The purpose of this is to develop healthy friendships among them and to develop socially responsible persons. VCC children have visited so many places, even no children or their parents also not visited, it given them a lot of exposure to nature, people. 

 

Refreshment Camps: This is for intermediate students after their exams refreshing their dreams and goals preparing them towards their goal and personality development and taught on goal setting exercise. They were taught on Education and Employment opportunities, issues on the students and also their performance in their studies reaching up to Ph.D., Alternate education & employment opportunities. It was a good time for to children underwent the self-rating of their own self and identified the gaps and planned how to overcome those. Also wrote their life goal, kept with them for their future reference. The night ends with cultural programmes performed by the participants. Last year and this year it was conducted.

 

World Environment Day: As a part of the educative objective 5th June VCC is organizing essay writing and elocution competitions for children on the purpose and prizes were given. To sensitize the children on environmental protection, they come with different art forms while prize distribution or competitions.

 

Children’s day: EveryyearChildren’s day is organizing in their areas to build confidence among the children and encourage them to participate, where they hesitate to participate with hundreds of children in their school. It is organizing in their area all children were participating, some organizing the events running, Khokho, kabaddi, cycling, musical chair, quiz, drawing, painting, elocution, and essay writing. It was like a celebration by parents and children by organizing events and prize distribution.

 

Republic day: To emphasize the necessity of patriotism and responsibility towards the society is organizing every year children sung GURAJADA POEM-“Desumunupreminchumanna”, cultural programmes, a rally was taken in Beach road with 800 children with the slogans of protecting child rights and stop child labor; protect the environment; respect women as a mother; speak in mother tongue and enjoy the nativity, etc.

 

Balotsav:

The purpose of Balotsav is to understanding the culture of a nation, people, or group, the arts, beliefs, customs, practices, values, and social behaviors an essential part of a well-rounded education as well as their childhood. By participating and attending the cultural events, children experience firsthand the diverse offerings of culture and artistic expression found in a community and broaden their horizons and gain unique insights into their own communities as well as a broader global perspective of our world’s diverse cultures. Ones in three years are organizing so far 2013, 2016, and 2019. This year Visakha Balotsavam organized in the city and steel plant 3 days each in 2019 for schools, 7000 children have participated.

Health camps: With the help of different institutions regular health camps organizing for children in their area, observing that anemia is an issue among the girls, skin diseases, stomach problems, eye problems also observing in all children.

 

NLTS exam is being conducted for the last two years with the support of JCI.

 

Other activities:

Regular picnics, visit industries are going like Zoo, Port, Harbor, Kambala Konda, Kailasgiri, Visakha museum and Shipyard, steel plant, etc. Children were taught about our leaders, scientists, the importance of different days. Encouraging them reading habit by giving different types books. They also participated to restrain the ZOO in the same place etc. They are involving to take up socio-economic studies of the slums in their holidays, participating in national festivals, etc.

 

Magic Shows: To inculcate the habit of questioning and to create interest TOT given to young children for 70, they learned and they are performing in the VCC clubs in the areas.

All these activities enhance the broader thinking among the children, understanding the value of education, respect other's work, and become responsible towards the family and society. Our slogan is VIJANAM, VINODAM, and VIKASAM, hope we are moving towards this but a long road ahead to cherish the child rights childhood.

 

VCC Tuition Centers: To provide a place for the children to learn and fill the gaps in their education as well as life. Gaps will be addressed child wise concentration is given to each child to graduate them matching the standards they are studying. A major focus in these centers is to develop and upgrade the student's language and arithmetic skills. As of now, VCC could bring 900 children in 43 tuition centers from July 2019 with committed young women.

This is all happening because of the passion among the organizers in each area for doing well to the children and volunteers from children are the leaders to other children. This is possible because many individuals, institutions are encouraging to carrying the activities.
